Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about licensing, certifications and how we work.

What are the signs my foundation needs repair?

Common warning signs include cracks in foundation walls, basement floors or drywall (especially stair-step cracks in block or brick and cracks wider at one end); doors and windows that stick or no longer latch; gaps around window and door frames; sloping or uneven floors; and walls that bow, lean or pull away from the house. Some cracking is normal as concrete cures, but cracks that grow, or several of these signs together, can mean the foundation is settling or moving. If you notice them, request a free foundation evaluation and we will help you understand what is happening and what it will take to fix it.

Are you licensed, insured and bondable?

Yes. We hold a general contractor's license in the City and County of Denver as well as most municipalities in Colorado, and we are insured and bondable.

What do M/WBE and SBE mean?

Both are certifications issued by the City and County of Denver. M/WBE (Minority and Woman-owned Business Enterprise) certifies us as a woman-owned business, and SBE certifies us as a Small Business Enterprise. We are also a certified federal Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB).

How long have you been in business?

Since 1981.

Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau?

Yes. We are a Gold Member of the BBB with an A+ rating.

Do you have your own crews?

Yes. We have experienced estimators, project managers, superintendents and crews, plus a large inventory of equipment and material. We also work with licensed subcontractors.

How quickly can you start on my project?

Usually very quickly. Our crews and equipment can typically mobilize soon after a project is approved. The main factors in timing are permitting and engineering: most foundation and structural work needs a stamped engineering design and a building permit before work can begin, and how long those take depends on the project and the local building department. We will give you a realistic start date with your estimate.

How long have you been installing piers?

We have been installing resistance (push) piers, helical piles, piles and anchors, and micropiles for over 25 years, and our crews have installed more than 18,000 piles in the last 30 years.

Do you do load testing?

Yes. We perform field load testing on helical piles and micropiles, plus grout testing on micropiles, so you know each pile meets the design before the structure is loaded. We also provide engineered stamped submittals. For example, the micropiles we installed for the new Red Rocks Amphitheatre stage roof were load tested to 180 kips. Our team's experience includes load testing piers for ICC evaluation.

Do you provide intrusive testing and cost of repairs?

Yes. Our crews perform intrusive testing on building envelopes and interiors as well as exploratory excavation, and our professionals provide cost-of-repair estimates and testimony on construction standards, structural, architectural, civil and building envelope defects.
