Case study · Aviation helical piles

Aero FNL, Loveland Airport

435 helical piles (4½-inch) to restore existing airport hangars, plus 3-inch helical piles for new hangars.

The project

Aero FNL, Loveland Airport

At Aero FNL, existing hangars needed their foundations restored, and new hangars needed foundations of their own.

Park Range installed 435 helical piles, 4½ inches in diameter, to restore the existing hangars, and 3-inch helical piles for the new hangar foundations.

Helical piles suit work like this: they install quickly with compact equipment next to existing structures, produce virtually no spoils, and can be loaded as soon as they are installed, with installation torque verifying each pile.

Scope of work

  • 4½-inch helical piles to restore existing hangars
  • 3-inch helical piles for new hangars
  • Installation next to active hangar structures
